We completely understand your concern towards the flood of ‘Misinformation‘ in the media field and that it has become a global threat to journalists around the world. Well, every action counts in the fight against misinformation, which intrudes on the overabundance of news, mixing facts, rumours and fake news.
Amid this problem, several measures have been put in place to curb the circulation of fake news, of which The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation is contributing to help journalists to combat misinformation.
The foundation has made an investment of $3 million for four projects to position journalists to develop resilience against misinformation, and connect them with experts who can provide the necessary training, tools and other resources to adapt to the ever-increasing threat of false information.
Knight Foundation is a national foundation with strong local roots. They invest in journalism, in the arts, and in the success of cities where brothers John S. and James L. Knight once published newspapers. Their goal is to foster informed and engaged communities, which they believe are essential for a healthy democracy.
