The purpose of Strengthening Teacher Education and Practice (STEP) Activity in Malawi is to improve the capacity of Teacher Training Colleges and the Ministry of Education to strengthen primary teacher preparation programs and operationalize a continuing professional development framework for both new and continuing teachers for more effective management of human resources at the primary education level.

The goal of STEP is to improve the capacities of TTCs and the MoE to more effectively manage and strengthen primary teacher preparation programs and to operationalize a continuing professional development (CPD) framework for both new and continuing primary teachers
