I am looking for a grant opportunity devoted to strengthening the health systems in Sub-Saharan Africa, is there any?

Yes, there is one such opportunity that exactly matches your interest.

The Tropical Health and Education Trust (THET) is pleased to announce the launch of the 1st wave of Small Grants for UK Partnerships for Health Systems (UKPHS). The program welcomes grant applications from Health Partnerships in any low- and lower-middle-income country in Sub-Saharan Africa or Southeast Asia addressing specific clinical and health system challenges.

The UK Partnerships for Health Systems program (UKPHS) works with low and lower-middle-income countries (LMICs) to build stronger and more resilient health systems, making progress towards achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) through improved health service performance.

The program particularly targets poor and vulnerable populations and will ultimately contribute to better health and wellbeing (SDG 3), including ending preventable deaths. Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO), UKPHS engages the UK health sector by harnessing the expertise of UK health institutions and professionals in partnerships with LMIC counterparts.

UKPHS is managed by THET with technical assistance from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) in the areas of health systems strengthening, gender equality and social inclusion, and monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning.

The deadline to submit applications for this program is 12-May-2021.
